Klipsch The Nines Heritage Inspired Powered Speakers
The $1499.00 Klipsch The Nines Heritage Inspired Powered Monitor Speakers [product link] [in Black] or [Walnut at Amazon] are pictured below in Walnut. If you are a fan of motor racing and are willing to pay the price premium, check out the McLaren Edition [YouTube video] [at Amazon]. These larger-sized “bookshelf” speakers measure 19.1″ high, 9.5″ wide, and 13.4″ deep, and weigh about 28 pounds each.
The Nines each feature a Tractrix horn loaded 1″ titanium LTS vented tweeter powered by 20 watts, an 8″ high-excursion fiber-composite cone woofer powered by 100 watts, and a rear-firing Tractrix port. That’s 120 watts of total amplification providing power for each speaker.
Inputs on back of the primary speaker include HDMI ARC for direct connection to your television or ultra short throw projector, TOSLINK optical, USB digital audio, switchable analog RCA audio/phono (with ground screw), and 3.5mm analog mini jack. Single subwoofer output. Top-mounted source select and volume control. The Nines feature Bluetooth 5.0, but lack Ethernet and Wi-Fi network connectivity! The secondary speaker features just the 4-conductor input to connect it to the primary speaker using the included 4 meter cable.
192kHz/24-bit decoding. Frequency response is rated from 34Hz to 25kHz ±3dB, and maximum SPL is 115dB. Dynamic Bass EQ applies loudness correction to automatically adjust low frequency levels as volume changes. If you feel the need to add a separate powered sub to extend the deep bass response, I recommend the optional $749.00 Klipsch RP-1000SW subwoofer [product link] [YouTube video] [at Amazon] which features a front-firing 10″ ultra long throw Cerametallic woofer and Aerofoil slot port in a cabinet measuring 16.6″ high, 15″ wide, 25″ deep, and weighing 56.7 pounds, powered by a 300 watt continuous, 600 watt peak Class D amplifier to provide bass extension down to 19Hz. (Subwoofer cable also sold separately.)
A remote control with batteries is included, as well as a 2m power cord for the primary speaker, a 4m 4-conductor speaker cable and 2m extension cable to connect the two speakers together, a 1.5m USB Type-B to USB Type-A cable, 1.5m HDMI cable, and owner’s manual and warranty info. Download the Klipsch Connect App to use your smartphone as a virtual remote and access quick and easy setup, EQ presets, how to videos, FAQs, and product support.
